Bistro Wine Tasting

Last Wed of Every Month

Bistro is a recipient of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence and continues to offer patrons top-tier, high-scoring wines and rare vintages you simply can't get at many dining establishments. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres are served at every wine-tasting event. Selected wines for this next:

Domaine Schlumberger, Pinot Blanc, Alsace, France The wine evolves to a sharp medium, marked by pearling. The rage of aromas recalls the nose, always focused on citrus fruits, lemon, apple, white flowers, fine vegetal, lemongrass, hops and always this underlying smoky note. There is a slight bitterness. The finish has a good length, 6-7 caudalies, as well as a persistent frank liveliness. The balance is focused on freshness.
Domaine Schlumberger, Pinot Gris, Alsace, France With plenty of floral-honey, caramelized-pear and some melon aromas, medium-full body and a creamy texture, this is a very classic Alsace pinot gris. But it is drier than most with a nice touch of positive tannin at the clean finish. Rather food-friendly. Drink now.
Domaine Schlumberger, Gewurztraminer, Alsace, France This is a minor gewurz masterpiece thanks to the exciting interplay of rose water and rose hip character, with citrusy and pineapple freshness. Some salty minerality adds an extra layer of complexity. Beautiful balance at the silky and dry finish. Drink or hold.
Domaine Schlumberger, Riesling, Alsace,France Grassy chamomile aromas invite you in. Upon first sip, dazzling fruit notes of pear and grapefruit show great restraint, held in check by zingy acidity. The long finish offers soft, delicate notes of apricot, both fresh and something akin to a fruit snack.

Hors d'oeuvres Served Are Selected From This List - Lolli Pop Lamb Chops, Smoked Salmon, Sesame Seared Tuna, Blackened Salmon, Steak Tips, Meat Balls, Clams Casino, Shrimp Tempura, Coconut Shrimp, Chicken Satay, Duch Wonton, Lobster Rissotto, Mushroom Risotto, Broschetta on French Toast, Oysters, Caramelized Scallops, Mini Crab Cakes, Shrimp Scampi, 3 Cheese Ravioli, Asparagus Wrapped in Prosciutto, Celery with Creamed Blue Cheese.
